The Denali Borough Assembly may establish a standing committee (by Ordinance) or a special committee (by Resolution) at any time according to Denali Borough Code (DBC) Chapter 2.45. Below is information regarding previous and active committees.

Finance Committee
The purpose of the Finance Committee is to advise the Assembly on Borough financial matters when appropriate.
The Denali Borough Finance Committee was created by Ordinance 13-15.
The Community and Outdoor Recreation Committee was established in 2022 to assist in the development of a comprehensive Community and Outdoor Recreation Plan. The Denali Borough Community & Outdoor Recreation Plan was approved by the Assembly in February 2025.
Although technically not a committee established by the Assembly, the Denali Borough Assembly supports the efforts of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) by seeking grant funding when available and by providing borough staff time and resources to facilitate LEPC meetings and activities when appropriate.

Redistricting Committee
Every 10 years, following the release of new U.S. Census data, the Denali Borough evaluates its voting districts to ensure they still meet the equal representation requirements of the U.S. Constitution and Alaska law (Alaska Statute 29.20.060). This is to make sure that each voting district has a roughly equal population, maintaining fair representation for all residents.
If the population data shows that the districts are malapportioned (unevenly distributed), the Borough Assembly may form a Redistricting Committee to redraw district boundaries to restore balance. This process helps uphold the principle of "one person, one vote."
The Denali Borough has gone through this redistricting process three times so far:
The Healy Transportation & Pedestrian Safety Committee (HTAPS) was established to address concerns regarding roadway safety in the Healy area and to develop a pedestrian and traffic safety plan.
The Healy Transportation and Pedestrian Safety Plan was approved by the Assembly in 2016.
The Healthcare Services Ad Hoc Committee was established in 2007 to discuss healthcare needs within the Denali Borough. The final committee report was provided to the Assembly in December 2007.
