Community & Outdoor Recreation Committee

Do you want to help guide community and outdoor recreation improvements in the Denali Borough? In June 2025, the Denali Borough Assembly established a standing Community and Outdoor Recreation Committee (CORC) to serve as an advisory body to guide recreation improvements, review and provide recommendations regarding Borough recreation facilities, and assist in the implementation and future revision of the Community and Outdoor Recreation Plan

A 5-to-7-member committee will be appointed by the Mayor and presented to the Assembly at their September meeting. We are seeking individuals interested in serving on this committee. The commitment will include evening meetings on the third Wednesday in the months of February, April, June, August, and October, as well as site visits and subcommittee work outside of the regularly scheduled meetings. The standard term of office for CORC members will be three years. Since the committee is standing up, there will initially be some members with shorter terms to ensure staggered rotation of membership moving forward. Committee members shall receive compensation at one half (1/2) that of an Assembly Member. Committee members are subject to travel pay and allowances while representing the Borough in an official capacity.

Please submit your interest in serving on the CORC by Thursday, July 31 through our online CORC application. Questions? Please reach out to Community Development Director, Stephanie Ford, at sford@denaliborough.com or (907) 388-6662.
