Redistricting Committee
Every 10 years, following the release of new U.S. Census data, the Denali Borough evaluates its voting districts to ensure they still meet the equal representation requirements of the U.S. Constitution and Alaska law (Alaska Statute 29.20.060). This is to make sure that each voting district has a roughly equal population, maintaining fair representation for all residents.
If the population data shows that the districts are malapportioned (unevenly distributed), the Borough Assembly may form a Redistricting Committee to redraw district boundaries to restore balance. This process helps uphold the principle of "one person, one vote."
