DENALI BOROUGH,
RESOLUTION
NO. 95-22
A RESOLUTION TO
SUPPORT THE DENALI BOROUGH’S FY 1997 CAPITAL MATCHING GRANTS PROJECT FOR THE
HEALY HOCKEY ASSOCIATION,
WHEREAS, the Denali Borough is
eligible participant in the Municipal Capital Project Matching Grant Program as
written in AS 37.06; and
WHEREAS, the Denali Borough has
listed the Healy Hockey Association, Recreation Center as their first priority
for FY 1997 Capital Matching Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the funding requested from
the State of Alaska for this project is $55,000 and the Denali Borough commits
its share of this project $30,505, with in-kind labor, equipment and materials,
toward the construction of this project; and
WHEREAS, the Denali Borough
recognizes the strong community support of this project through past donations,
thousands of volunteer hours documented in building the facility to its current
state, and wishes to see this continue, and
WHEREAS, the Denali Borough
recognizes the use of the facility by residents of the communities of Cantwell,
Denali Park, Healy, Anderson, and the areas in between; and
WHEREAS, the Healy Hockey
Association has outgrown its current facility and this increase demands water
and sewer facilities, and increased multi-purpose space; and
WHEREAS, the Healy Hockey
Association plans to expand usage from seasonal use to a year round use of the
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the construction of this
project will add both to the usefulness and functionality of the facility as
well as providing additional self-sufficient public space; and
AND WHEREAS, the past and future use
of this facility as an outdoor activity in a winter dominated climate is
beneficial for the health of
the members of the community.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the
Denali Borough Assembly endorses the
PASSED and APPROVED by the
day of November, 1995.
