AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
ARTICLE II, SECTION 2.02 OF THE DENALI BOROUGH CHARTER CONCERNING
REDISTRICTING.
BE
IT ENACTED by the Denali Borough, Alaska that:
Section 1. Classification. This ordinance is of a general and permanent
nature.
Section
2.Article II, Section 2.02 amended. Section
2.02 of Article II of the Denali
Borough
Charter is hereby amended as follows:
Composition
The
Assembly elected by the qualified voters of the Denali Borough shall consist of
nine (9) Assembly members. The
districts are composed of the following:
A. [District 1] South 1 seat; A
Kantishna
Cantwell
B. District
2 East Central [4]1
seat[s]; B[, C, D, & E]
McKinley Village/Carlo Creek
Denali Park
Healy East of the Nenana River
[Ferry]
C. District
[3] 2 West Central 4 seats;

[Anderson/Clear]
[Anderson Highway Area]
Healy West of the Nenana River
Highway North to Panguingue Creek
D. North 3 seats;
G, H, & I

Panguingue Creek
As
the need arises, re-apportionment and redistricting changes will take place by
Assembly ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date This
ordinance becomes effective upon adoption by the
Assembly,
signature of the Mayor, and approval by a majority vote at a regular or special
election of the Denali Borough.
