DENALI BOROUGH, ALASKA

 

RESOLUTION NO.  94-12

 

 

A RESOLUTION ENDORSING APPLICATION, UNDER THE FISCAL YEAR 1995

 MUNICIPAL CAPITAL PROJECT MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM (AS 37.06),

FOR FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 3,100 FEET OF PLATTED GRAVEL

ROADS IN THE PANGUINGUE CREEK SUBDIVISION.

 

WHEREAS, Panguingue Creek subdivision currently has inhabited structures on the lots not accessible by road; and

 

WHEREAS, there are platted road right-of-ways to these lots; and

 

WHEREAS, road access to these lots would greatly improve the safety and quality of life of the residents; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of the Panguingue Creek Homeowner's Association has identified the greatest road construction needs (in prioritized order) as: (1) Menkent Avenue to Block 8, Lot 12 (500 feet); (2) Denebola Avenue to Block 12, lot 6 (2,050 feet); (3) Cancpus Street - widening the existing pullout at Stampede Road; and (4) Diphda Circle from Denebola to Block 10, Lot 5: and

 

WHEREAS, a Municipal Capital Project Matching Grant of $39,466.00, with a local contribution of $6,965.00 would serve to complete this proposed construction; and

 

AND WHEREAS, the Denali Borough and the communities within it would benefit from the increase in the availability and accessibility of housing that this road building would create.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:  that the Denali Borough Assembly and Mayor apply to the State of Alaska for the Municipal Capital Project Matching Grant, on behalf of the Panguingue Creek Subdivision and its residents, for the purpose of road construction in the Panguingue Creek Subdivision as proposed.
