AN ORDINANCE AMENDING DENALI BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER

8, SECTION 9-A, CONCERNING VOTES REQUIRED FOR PASSAGE OF AN ORDINANCE, RESOLUTION OR MOTION.

 

BE IT ENACTED by the Assembly of the Denali Borough, Alaska that:

 

 

 

Section 1.  Classification.  This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature.

 

Section 2.  Purpose.  The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Chapter 8, Section 9-A of the Denali Borough Code of Ordinances as follows:

 

Section 9.  Voting; quorum.

 

A.  Five (5) Assembly members constitute a quorum. [Five affirmative votes are required for passage of an ordinance, resolution, or motion.] Five (5) affirmative votes are required for passage of an ordinance, resolution, motion involving legal action or Assembly approval of a contract.  When a roll call vote is taken it will be done by means of a random vote.

 

 

 

Section 3.  Effective Date.  This ordinance becomes effective upon adoption of the Denali Borough Assembly and signature of the Mayor.
