RESOLUTION NO.  94-15

 

 

 

A RESOLUTION IN FAVOR OF EXTENDING THE TIME LIMIT FOR

COMMENT ON THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

PROPOSED MINERAL OPENING ORDER #695.

 

 

WHEREAS, the State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Land proposes to open to locatable mineral entry, certain state lands previously closed, that were identified for possible disposal under the State's Public land offering program and other lands identified for possible exchange with the Federal Government; and

 

 

WHEREAS, the Denali Borough Administration became aware of this situation too late to have it added to the May 15, 1994 Regular Assembly meeting agenda; and

 

 

WHEREAS, the Panguingue Creek Homeowner's Association has expressed opposition to this proposal in the form of a resolution; and

 

 

WHEREAS, the public has not had adequate time to comment on this proposal; and

 

 

WHEREAS, the Denali Borough Land Use Planning Committee is currently working with the public on the formulation of a Comprehensive Land Use Plan, and is beginning to plan which lands will be selected for the Borough's Municipal Entitlement.

 

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: the Denali Borough Assembly hereby requests a time extension to adequately review Mineral Opening Order #695 Lands.
