Denali Borough

Resolution No.  02-11

 

A resolution supporting the City of Anderson’s request for capital funding from the state of Alaska to expand their septage disposal lagoon.

 

WHEREAS:  The Denali Borough Assembly is the governing body of the Denali Borough, Alaska, and

 

WHEREAS:  The City of Anderson owns and operates a septage disposal lagoon which receives and disposes of wastewater sludge and septic tank sludge from throughout the Borough, and

 

WHEREAS:  The Anderson septage lagoon has exceeded its existing capacity, and

 

WHEREAS:  Septage disposal within the Borough is a necessary and important function which promotes health, welfare, and economic prosperity, and

 

WHEREAS:  Failure to respond to increased demand for septage disposal may result in illegal dumping of septage that may threaten clean water and health and limit economic growth, and

 

WHEREAS:  The City of Anderson’s request for capital funding to expand their septage disposal lagoon will meet the current and 20-year growth demand,

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED; that the Denali Borough Assembly hereby supports the City of Anderson’s request for capital funding to enlarge their septage disposal lagoon. 

 

 

I the undersigned, hereby certify that the Assembly is composed of  9 members of whom 9 , constituting a QUORUM were present and that the foregoing Resolution was PASSED AND APPROVED by the Denali Borough Assembly, Alaska, the 8th  day of September, 2002.
