AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8,
SECTION 4 OF THE DENALI BOROUGH
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO SPECIFY WHICH
EDITION OF ROBERT'S RULES OF
ORDER GOVERNS THE DENALI BOROUGH
ASSEMBLY.
BE IT ENACTED by the Assembly of the Denali Borough, Alaska
that:
Section 1.
Classification.
This
ordinance is of a general and permanent nature.
Section 2. Chapter
8, Section 4 amended.
Chapter 8,
Section 4 of the Denali Borough Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 4. Assembly rules; speaking; rules of conduct. An Assembly member about to speak shall
respectfully address the presiding officer, and shall not commence to speak
until recognized by the presiding officer.
When two (2) or more members request to speak at the same time, the
presiding officer shall determine which one is recognized. Every member while speaking shall confine
himself to the subject under debate, and shall not refer to any other member of
the Assembly except in a respectful manner.
The 1990 Newly Revised 9th edition of Robert's Rules of Order[,
Revised] governs the conduct of Assembly meetings to the extent this Municipal
Code does not provide otherwise.
Section 3. Effective
Date. This ordinance becomes effective upon
