DENALI BOROUGH, ALASKA

RESOLUTION NO. 91-19

A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF MAKING ELECTRICITY AVAILABLE TO THE MCKINLEY AREA.

WHEREAS, the Denali Borough is interested in improving the living conditions of the resident of the McKinley area, and

WHEREAS, these residents desire to have electricity made available to their homes and businesses; and

WHEREAS, the availability of electricity would not only be more convenient for the residents of the area, but may also increase the value of the property they currently hold and decrease noise and other pollutants to the environment; and

WHEREAS, this electrification project would increase the potential development of the McKinley area; and

WHEREAS, the McKinley area surrounds the entrance to Denali National Park, which will to continue to attract visitors at an increasing rate, therefore supporting more businesses and creating jobs for the local residents;

AND WHEREAS, the increase of business and job opportunities will create potential revenue sources for the Borough which will increase local funding to help in this time of decreasing State revenues.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Denali Borough Assembly strongly supports the McKinley Electrification Project.
