CALL TO Presiding Officer Jerry
Mueller called the public hearing to order at 3:03
ORDER p.m.
ROLL CALL Assembly members present were:
Sid Michaels, Jim Caswell, Teresa Hall,
Carol Shields, Jerry Mueller, Teresa Usibelli, Jim Payne, Scott Stowell, Gerald
Pollock and Mayor Gonzales.
1.)
Ordinance 96-22, version G, Providing for subdivision planning and
platting within the Denali Borough.
There were no comments.
2.)
Ordinance 01-05, Version D, an ordinance amending Ordinance 96-04
regarding the initial zoning of the Borough.
Will Forsberg, Healy resident, suggested
changing the wording to “resident registered voters” to clarify who is allowed
to vote in the area. He said he looked
at the voter list and he found that just as many people that claimed to live
there compared to the people that actually do live there. He stated that the Clerk is having a hard
time determining which are actually resident voters.
Steve Jones, McKinley Village resident, spoke in
favor of Forsberg’s suggestion.
3.)
Ordinance 01-06, version D, an ordinance amending Denali Borough Code of
Ordinances, Chapter 24, Section 6, concerning management of Borough Real
property.
There were no public comments.
4.)
Ordinance 01-07, Version A, an ordinance adding Chapter 22, pertaining
to Business Licenses to the Denali Borough Code of Ordinances.
William Bailey, Healy resident, asked if the
business license ordinance is linked to the excursion tax, and questioned the
name of the tax. He said he would support a tax that would that would
start giving support to the Fire and
EMS Departments.
Forsberg said that he would be in favor of this
ordinance after the bugs are worked out, like who has to obtain this license.
