DENALI BOROUGH, ALASKA

RESOLUTION NO. 95-17

A RESOLUTION OF THE DENALI BOROUGH ASSEMBLY SUPPORTING

PROJECTS FOR THE STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, the Assembly, is the governing body of the Denali Borough; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has asked all municipalities to nominate projects for the new Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP); and

WHEREAS, the following projects have been designated for nomination:

1.) Construct safety improvements, consolidated access, frontage roads and pedestrian facilities MP 237-239 (major concentration of hotels and tourist facilities) in the Nenana Canyon/Denali Park area.

2.) Healy Hilltop road. Realignment to eliminate very steep grade.

3.) Turn lane off the Parks Highway onto the Healy Spur Road.

4.) East/West passing lane off the Parks Highway beginning at Larry's Healy Service Station and ending at the Healy Chevron located near the south side of the community.

5.) Slow truck lane or passing lane just before Otto Lake Road on the Parks Highway.

AND WHEREAS, the Assembly adopted Resolution #95-09 supporting the proposed transportation infrastructure for the Denali Borough, which included most of these proposed projects.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Denali Borough Assembly supports the above outlined projects to be nominated for the STIP Program.
