DENALI BOROUGH,
RESOLUTION NO. 94-13
A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT
THE
MATCHING GRANTS PROJECT
FOR THE HEALY COAL KINGS HOCKEY
ASSOCIATION, WARM-UP SHACK
CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, the Denali Borough is an eligible
participant in the Municipal Capital Project Matching Grant Program as written
in AS 37.06; and
WHEREAS, the Denali Borough has listed the Healy
Coal Kings Hockey Association, Warm-Up Shack Construction as their second
priority for the FY 1995 Capital Matching Grants Program; and
WHEREAS, the funding requested from the State of
Alaska for this project is $14,420 and the Denali Borough commits its share of
this project, $2,5440, with in-kind labor and equipment, towards the
construction of this project; and
WHEREAS, the Denali Borough recognizes the strong
community support of this project through past donations, thousands of
volunteer hours logged in building the facility to its current state, and
wishes to see this continue; and
WHEREAS, the Denali Borough recognizes the use of
the facility by residents of the communities of Cantwell, Denali Park, Healy,
Ferry, Anderson and the areas in between; and
WHEREAS, the construction of this project will add
both to the usefulness and functionality of the facility as well as to the
safety of the users;
AND WHEREAS, the past and future use of this
facility as an outdoor activity in a winter-dominated climate is good for the
health of the individuals and the community.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Denali Borough Assembly endorses the
Healy Coal Kings Hockey Association, Warm-up Shack Construction as a second
priority project for the FY 1995 Capital Matching Grants Program.
