DENALI BOROUGH, ALASKA

RESOLUTION NO. 95-08

A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 95-04, A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE MAYOR OR HIS DESIGNEE SERVE ON ALL DENALI PARK COMMITTEES WHERE IT IMPACTS THE DENALI BOROUGH.

WHEREAS, the National Park Service is responsible for management of Denali National Park and Preserve; and

WHEREAS, a major part of the responsibility is planning for public use impacts; and

WHEREAS, a significant portion of the public use impact results from tourism; and

WHEREAS, a significant portion of Denali National Park [Service] is within the Denali Borough; and

WHEREAS, tourism associated with Denali National Park [Service] has a significant impact on the social and economic fabric of the Denali Borough;

AND WHEREAS, those impacts come both from within and outside the park and preserve border.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Denali Borough Mayor or his designee is recommended to serve on the appropriate Denali National Park Service Committees where it serves in the best interest of The Denali Borough and its residents.
