DENALI BOROUGH, ALASKA

RESOLUTION NO. 93-13

A RESOLUTION STATING THE BOROUGH ASSEMBLY'S POSITION ON THE

NATIONAL PARK SERVICE DRAFT SOUTH SLOPE DEVELOPMENT

CONCEPT PLAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT.

WHEREAS, the Denali Borough Assembly was not given an opportunity to participate in the formulation of the Draft South Slope DCP and EIS; and

WHEREAS, the Denali Borough Assembly feels the plan does not adequately consider the resources both inside and outside of the park; and

WHEREAS, the plan does not address the real problems for visitors to Denali National Park;

AND WHEREAS, the Denali Borough would like to see a comprehensive effort at regional planning which considers use and activities that could potentially and appropriately occur on adjoining lands as well as park lands within the Borough.

BE IT RESOLVED: that the Denali Borough Assembly supports Alternative C (No Action) in the South Slope Development Concept Plan.
