DENALI BOROUGH, ALASKA

RESOLUTION NO. 94-14

A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT FOR

THE HEALY CLEAN COAL PROJECT.

Whereas, the Denali Borough is interested in the promotion of the area to continue the economic development within the Borough; and

Whereas, most residents in the Healy area express support for the Healy Clean Coal Project (HCCP); and

Whereas, a majority of residents in the Healy area are currently represented by collective bargaining agreements; and

Whereas, the HCCP would provide needed additional employment opportunities for Borough residents; and

Whereas, the increase of business and job opportunities will create potential additional revenue sources for the Denali Borough;

AND WHEREAS, it would not make a significant financial hardship on the Denali Borough.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Denali Borough Assembly supports the creation of a project labor agreement between the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority and the respective labor unions for the duration of the Healy Clean Coal Project.

PASSED AND APPROVED by the DENALI BOROUGH ASSEMBLY this 15th day of May, 1994.
